An interesting rip

Okay, so I don't have cable and can't watch O'Reilley, but from what I've heard, he's pretty biased. Here's a total rip of him and his latest book (site referred to me by a clanmate on Aardwolf Mud. See sidebar: favorite websites).

Maddox comes across as an asshat on a lot of his stuff, but this one had me snickering almost non-stop. While Fox News presents more-balanced reporting than other mainstream news outlets do, it does have a decided slant on its editorial stuff. I'd say that's because the other media outlets have the opposite slant, only they won't acknowledge it. :p Anyway, enjoy the review. If you're not a total asshat in the opposite direction, I bet you'll be chuckling, too.

Protesting Reality

Protesters march outside the premiere party for the 'Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs' exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in Los Angeles June 15, 2005. The protesters said the ancient king was black and therefore the modern face reconstruction is an inaccurate portrayal of him as an Egyptian. REUTERS/Mario Anzuoni

Modern reconstruction, my ass. [Now-dead link deleted :p ]. Newsflash! Egypt was Egyptian! Its pharaohs were Egyptian! That's not a hard concept to grasp. Yet here are a bunch of militant idiots trying to arrogate to themselves the history of another people, instead of celebrating their own. What, the Nubian Kingdom and Axumite Empire aren't flashy enough for them? Are they ashamed of Shaka Zulu?

"A race of people is like an individual man; until it uses its own talent, takes pride in its own history, expresses its own culture, affirms its own selfhood, it can never fulfill itself." -- Malcolm X.
